Fish Of The Month / March 2022 A Month For The Record Books

I have been writing this monthly report for several years now and selecting a catch worthy of the title “Fish Of The Month” is usually an easy task. My first report came from FFC member Rich Grunwald. On a March 1st trip to Oklawaha River, Rich landed a nice 8lb. 3oz. Bass at 8:40am.

Rich Grunwald / 8lbs. 3oz. / Oklawaha River

Within 30 minutes Rich had an even bigger fish on and when it hit the scales the magic number 10lbs. 1oz. appeared.

Roch Grunwald / 10lbs. 1oz. / Oklawaha River

This was surely the March “Fish Of The Month” and all I had to do was write it up and post it. Easy peasy.

Well not so fast because on March 18th, FFC member John Barksdale reported another Lake Okahumpka giant.

John Barksdale / 10lbs. 4oz. / Lake Oklawaha

Weighing in at 10lbs. 4oz., a length of 27-1/2″ and a girth of 20″ We now have two outstanding catches and “Fish Of The Month” pins to both anglers.
