Fish Of The Month / December 2021

On December 7th FFC member Rich Haessly posted this on the “Fishing Reports” page. Check it out.
“Caught this 7lb 13oz bass this afternoon at the Miona Pond.

Rich Haessly / 7lbs 13oz. / Villages Pond

I was casting around a drainage pipe when I saw a big swirl. I don’t think it was going after my crank bait because the swirl was about 3 or 4 feet away from the path of my retrieve. I made a couple of long casts and tried to retrieve parallel and as close as possible to the right side of pipe without getting hung up. The fish hit as soon as I targeted the left side of the pipe. The fish was probably in 2 or 3 feet of water. My lure runs at 7 to 9 feet. Although I slowed my retrieve, I was definately “plowing” the bottom”

7lbs. 13oz.

Adjusting the retrieve was apparently the trick.

A side note: Rich has had a good year. Back in November Rich was part of “Team Frederick” the winning team in the 2021 “Pro Challenge”
