The Heat Is On

Jim Jones / 7lbs. 4oz. / Villages Pond

The “Dog Days Of Summer” have arrived and fishing has slowed a bit but those who put in the time are usually rewarded for their efforts. July started slow but a number of fish in the 2-5 pound range were reported. That all changed on July 19th with FFC member Jim Jones reporting this 7lb 4oz. Villages pond Bass taken with what Jim refers to as a “Big Worm”  WTG Jim. Another “Fish Of The Month” pin to add to your collection.

Now for those who are not regulars to the “Fishing Reports Page” Jim passed along some very helpful advice.
Here is Jim’s report…….
“Frank Martines was fishing at Nancy Lopez/Briarwood West on Sat. 7/31 and was told by a Lawn Maintenance worker that he just had a Cottonmouth come out from the long grass he was mowing over on the west side of the fishing area, attack the wheels of the mower, then slither off. This is the 2nd report we’ve heard in the past couple of weeks, in the same area.
I just wanted to give everyone a “heads-up” if you fish that pond to be careful around the waters edge, or near any vegetation. Good advice at any pond.

Now in the “Odds And Ends Department”

Here’s a report  from  Club President Randy DiSanto.  On a day that the fish just wouldn’t bite Randy still managed to reel in  something worth while.

Free Tackle

This nice topwater bait came complete with a snap swivel and 10 feet of line.

Thanks to all who have reported and sent in pics. Keep them coming.
